Who qualifies for a Check up?
Patients who are referred by a physician, specialist, bank or insurance company.
You may contact Royal Doctors on your own initiative.
Who does not qualify for a Check up?
People less than 3 years of age who would like to undergo an examination “for no particular reason”.
In the majority of cases, the examination would be a waste of time and money for them.
Naturally, a doctor can also deem it advisable for younger people to undergo a Check up, despite their young age.
The Royal Doctors also organise, for example, preventive medical examinations on the basis of scientific data.
Does it occur that nothing is found during a Check up?
Of course; more than 90% of the Check ups give negative results over the whole range.
Sometimes it can happen that an examination gives “false positive” results. These are doubtful situations which wrongfully indicate the existence of a condition in a particular patient. In that case the expertise and experience of our radiologists make all the difference. Furthermore, we work with high-tech medical examination equipment, which enables us to arrive at a correct interpretation of the examination results.
Can I put together my Check up myself?
No. We work with various age brackets and take into account the possible (family) background history which you and your referring doctor have provided. This enables our specialists to jointly set up an ideal series of examinations in order to assess your health condition as best as possible.
How much radiation do I receive during a Check up?
As little as possible. We work a great deal with MRI and echo-doppler. These examinations are radiation-free.
During other examinations, such as a cycling test, laboratory testing or ECG, you will also not be exposed to radiation.
We do not use X rays at all ( RX, CT scan ….. )
How often is a Check up recommended?
This depends on the (family) background history of the patient.
For healthy patients older than 45, we recommend a check up every year.
Do I receive the results from my Check up in writing?
Yes, and we send a copy to your GP on your authorisation.
What is the cost of a Check up?
This depends on your age and your background history.
A check up is available from 300 euro and can rise up depending of your age, health condition, background, medical history….
